Passive House Meets Net Zero – Zeroing In On Energy Efficiency

PH meets Net Zero (4)

If you missed Passive House Meets Net Zero, you still have a chance to listen to a recorded streaming of the event!

This education event, co-hosted with Ontario Passive House Group, focused on Net Zero Energy Homes and Buildings. Participants learned about the work of the Passive House Institute (PHI) in Germany, which has spent the last few years tackling the question what does it mean to be “Net Zero”. The Institute has developed new assessment method that addresses sustainable energy supply in the building sector and, based on this, introduced new classifications that build on the proven Passive House Standard and take into account the interdependencies between energy efficiency and renewable energy supply.

Speaker presented an in-depth look at these new classifications and how they can be practically achieved in a cost effective manner. The talk included a demonstration of the software tool developed based on the new sustainability assessment criteria.
