iPHA Webinar: Project Spotlight: Passive House car dealership in Alberta, Canada

During this Project Spotlight, the two presenters will provide an inside glimpse into a unique building typology, a Passive House car dealership in the very cold climate of Alberta, Canada. Andrew Peel, founder of Peel Passive House Consulting, and Garrett Scott, the dealership owner, provide two different views on this pathbreaking project, one being a very experienced Passive House Designer, the other one looking for the best solution for his business while keeping environmental aspect in mind.

A car dealership, specifically in a harsh climate like this, comes with unique challenges regarding Passive House planning because of the different types of space it includes, like the showroom and offices, but also the car service areas, all having to achieve comfortable conditions while remaining energy efficient. This iPHA Project Spotlight will show the project’s challenges and lessons learned, the compromises between the architects, planners, builders and owners, and how the building turned out.
