Regenerative Metropolis 2024 Symposium “Aligning with Biogenic Systems” September 27th Friday of Climate Week

  • Over 400 registered
  • 2024’s Theme focused on combining Passive House technology with best practices in material carbon storage, with special focus on the sourcing of biobased materials from regenerative agriculture and climate smart wood
  • Planning committee: Buck Moorhead, Vicki Yee, David Lewis, Alexander Aptekar, Sebastian Moreno-Vacca, Andreas Benzing.
  • Met bi-weekly or as needed
  • Expanded NYPH network in search for presenters and experts.
  • Acquired NYSERDA funding, collaborated with Parsons
  • Promoted with Cross Learning Alliance Partners, Urban Green, PHA, AIA, and others
  • Recordings all available on the website
  • 2024 we started NYPH Webinars presented by our sponsors. We had 10 sessions in total. 428 Attendees. 47% rate of Attendance the first year!

2025 Outlook

Planning for “Regenerative Metropolis” Symposium 2025 for September 26th at Parsons

  • Issued request for proposals for submissions, extended deadline to April 17th
  • Sent out a call for artwork to visualize the theme of “Regenerative Metropolis” due April 17th
  • Focus of symposium is Passive House as the foundation for full regenerative measures, how does italign/misalign with that larger goal. 
  • Started collaborating with other organizations to give presentations to our NYPH members
