Summary of 2024
the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) working group made strides in advancing our commitment to making the New York Passive House community more accessible and welcoming. Through continued research and the development of strategies, we focused on removing barriers across both our digital and physical platforms, ensuring that all members can participate fully.
Additionally, JEDI strengthened strategic partnerships with other industry organizations to support DEI initiatives. A key achievement was our collaborative outreach for the Passive House Network’s (PHN) BIPOC and affordable housing partner scholarship, aimed at making the Passive House certification process more accessible to underrepresented communities.
2025 Outlook
Looking ahead to 2025, JEDI is committed to implementing strategies that further increase diversity and accessibility across our platforms.
We will also focus on celebrating the contributions of our community by launching a monthly spotlight initiative. This new program will allow members to nominate individuals or projects that have made significant contributions to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Through these efforts, we aim to continue building an inclusive and supportive environment within the Passive House community.
