Project Description
Park Avenue Green was built to Passive House certification standards in order to provide very energy efficient and sustainable affordable housing, within an innovative 15 story building. The project includes 154 apartments and a 4,300 SF Community Facility that will potentially house a child care center. Along with its highly insulated and thoroughly sealed building envelope, the design incorporates storm resiliency features, and includes cogeneration and a VRF HVAC system. The project provides much needed low-income housing while incorporating state of the art building technology to create a community of sustainable homes. The façade design was developed to complement the adjacent building by the same owner.
