11:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. | Biogenic Construction Case Study
Farming and building in a new way:
The building and agriculture industries together account for around 53% of CO₂ emissions worldwide. By farming and building in a new way, we have the opportunity to sequester more CO₂ than we consume and at the same time grow our homes and cities on a larger scale. In a way we heal our soil and produse real organic food and make buildings that last for generations to come. By co-creating together with nature we can create a better future today.
Straw panels go mainstream:
How EcoCocon straw panels are starting to reach the mainstream in Europe. From small residential homes, 12 story high-rise buildings, to a soon-to-be over million square foot logistic center. Paul will discuss EcoCocon’s certification approvals, code and fire regulations, and experience with builders and architects working on projects of all scales.
Scale bio building in the US:
Natur aims to scale bio building in the US in the form of prefab modular straw panel homes with the use of EcoCocon’s technology and regenerative building / farming ideals in mind. Our beyond net-zero solution aims to address humanity’s most existential threats and the housing crisis – all while creating a symbiotic, sustainable, and abundant relationship between builders and farmers.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will gain understanding in the impact of the building and agriculture industries and their potential to restore our soil, food, and health systems.
- Participants will be demonstrated the remarkable carbon sequestration capacity of building with regenerative straw bio materials.
- Participants will learn about the EcoCocon straw panel system from a design, performance and certifications standpoint.
- Participants will explore the advantages of straw in comparison to mass timber as well as barriers and solutions to scaling straw construction.
