Dani Hill-Hansen – Architect, Sustainable Design Engineer | EFFEKT

Dani’s work is in sustainable transition of the Danish building industry.  Her professional experience includes teaching, lecturing, research & design, construction, building design, staging participatory design processes and sustainable consultancy. In her role as project manager, she specializes in facilitating cross-sectoral research projects working to bridging the gap between climate science and building industry action. She has led various of EFFEKT’s research projects such as The Doughnut for Urban Development and the Reduction Roadmap, a science-based transformation tool that translates the Paris Agreement and the Planetary Boundary for Climate Change into industry-specific reduction targets for new Danish housing projects. The Reduction Roadmap turned into a campaign, which has succeeded in mobilizing the support of 600+ companies and organizations across the value-chain in the Danish building industry. Dani also teaches sustainable design courses, lectures on absolute sustainability and is an advocate for Degrowth. She recently co-edited ‘Doughnut for Urban Development: A Manual’ and aspires to steer the world towards a safe and just future.
