This one-hour AIA accredited educational session will cover strategies for designing and installing Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) with stone wool exterior continuous insulation. During this course, you will learn how the latest energy codes in residential and commercial construction, along with other regulatory requirements can be achieved using noncombustible insulation. The information outlined today will include the performance of modern EIFS with Drainage systems, and the properties of stone wool that makes the insulation a suitable substrate for the lamina. Participants will come away with tangible solutions, insight into proper detailing and installation, and an improved understanding of the performance benefits including fire, acoustics, sustainability, and durability, among others of stone wool EIFS assemblies.

Rob Klein is a member of EIMA, and the leader of the ROCKWOOL specification department for EIFS. He supports owners, specifiers, architects, and engineers in meeting performance goals.
