4697 Third Ave (Cyrus House) is featured in the NYC Department of City Planning’s “Principles of Good Urban Design,” a guidebook that offers New Yorkers a set of shared values and goals to advocate for quality design in their communities.
4697 Third Ave serves as the exemplar for the “Design of an Affordable Housing Building,” meeting four key principles of good urban design:
1. Enhancing People’s Daily Lives
2. Caring for a Neighborhood’s History, Culture, and Identity
3. Embracing the City’s Dynamism
4. Confronting Society’s Greatest Challenges
